5 reasons why using a free email service or your ISP's email address is a
bad idea for you and your business.
1. Fraud is often associated with these free email services. Some online
merchants simply refuse to accept orders that originate from them. If you
operate a business your may be losing customers that do not trust your
authenticity.
2. Ultimate control of your email account. You may at any time lose your
free email account if you don't use it within a certain time, or if the
provider decides to change their service model. You do not actually own the
email address and do not have any rights to the domain.
3. It has become next to impossible to get an email address that's easily
useable, let alone memorable. There are just too many variations in
circulation, so why settle for yourbusinessname1969@hotmail.com, when you
can have sales@businessname.com
4. Many free email providers charge extra for POP access that allows you to
use an email client such as Outlook to read and compose emails. This extra
charge often costs more than getting your own domain and email account from
us for a year.
5. Free email accounts usually include advertising insertions. Do you really
want to be advertise a competitor in an email you send to one of your
customers?
