# How to Enable Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) in WP Squared

Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) adds an extra layer of security to your WP Squared account by requiring both your password and a temporary verification code when you log in. This helps protect your account even if your password is ever compromised.

### Step 1 – Log In to Your WP Squared Dashboard

Sign in to your **WP Squared** account from the Client Area.

### Step 2 – Open the Your Account Menu

Once you are logged in, click your **profile icon** (or your name) in the top-right corner of the dashboard. From the dropdown menu, select **Your Account**.

### Step 3 – Go to Security Settings

Inside the **Your Account** section, open the **Security** tab. Here you’ll see an option labeled **Two-Factor Authentication (2FA)**.

### Step 4 – Enable 2FA

Click the **Enable 2FA** button. A QR code will appear on screen.

Open your preferred authenticator app (such as **Google Authenticator**, **Authy**, or **Microsoft Authenticator**) on your mobile device and scan the QR code.

Your app will generate a 6-digit verification code. Enter this code into the WP Squared verification field and click **Verify and Enable**.

### Step 5 – Save Your Backup Codes

Once 2FA is enabled, you’ll be shown several **backup codes**. These can be used to access your account if you lose your mobile device. Download or securely store these codes in a safe location — you won’t be able to view them again later.

### Step 6 – Confirm Setup

You’ll see a confirmation message that 2FA is active on your account. The next time you log in, WP Squared will prompt you for your one-time 6-digit code after entering your password.

### ✅ Tips

- If you change phones, disable 2FA first, then re-enable it on your new device.
- Keep at least one backup code stored offline.
- 2FA can also be disabled from the same Security tab if required.

### Need Help?

If you’re locked out of your account and no longer have access to your authenticator device or backup codes, please open a support ticket in the client area for identity verification and account recovery assistance.
