That’s why Domain Central created the Community Hosting Program: free and heavily discounted web hosting for eligible Australian not-for-profit organisations, community groups, charities, and incorporated associations.
We’ve been supporting Australian organisations online for over a decade. This program is our way of giving back to the communities our customers are part of.
Who Is This Program For ?
The Domain Central Community Hosting Program is available to organisations that meet all of the following criteria:
- Registered in Australia as a not-for-profit entity (incorporated association, charity, co-operative, or similar)
- Able to provide a current ABN, ACNC registration number, or other official documentation confirming NFP status
- Operating for community benefit — not for the financial gain of members or directors
- Not a commercial enterprise operating under an NFP structure
Eligible organisation types include sports clubs, community groups, charities, religious organisations, cultural associations, neighbourhood houses, volunteer groups, and similar bodies.
Applications without supporting documentation will not be accepted. If you’re unsure whether your organisation qualifies, contact our team and we’ll help you work it out.

We offer two types of Community Hosting. Both genuine Australian Hosting on Domain Centrals own infrastructure. The difference is your control panel.
standard community hosting
This plan gives your organisation a proper online presence at no cost. With AdminBolt modern control panel, its ideal if you don’t have a technically experienced committee member and just need the site to work.
What we ask in return: Display a Domain Central banner prominently on your website’s home page, with a link back to domaincentral.com.au. The banner must be clearly visible to all visitors and displayed unaltered.

cpanel community hosting
If your organisation already has a website hosted on cPanel elsewhere, this plan makes migration seamless. Your tech team will be working in a familiar control panel.
What we ask in return: Same banner and backlink requirement as the Free Plan.

Frequently Asked Questions!
Does my organisation need an existing website?
No. If you’re starting from scratch, we can help. Our hosting includes a one-click WordPress installer, and our team can point you toward resources for getting a site built affordably.
We already have hosting elsewhere — can we switch?
Yes. We can migrate your existing website to Domain Central at no charge. Just let us know when you apply and our friendly team will be happy to assist.
Where do I find a banner to add to my website?
We have created a wide varienty of banners and badges you can choose from to add to yoru homepage and back link to us. You can view and download them here
What counts as an acceptable NFP document?
We accept ABN confirmation from the ATO showing NFP tax concession status, an ACNC charity registration number, or a certificate of incorporation for an incorporated association in any Australian state or territory. If you’re unsure what you have, contact us.
If you are in the process of obtaining NFP status, we may still be able to get you going with your hosting. However if you are also looking to register a .org.au domain you will need proof of NFP status in order to meet auDA eligibility criteria.
Is the banner requirement permanent?
Yes, for as long as your account remains on the Community Hosting Program. The banner is how we fund the program. If you’d prefer not to display it, you’re welcome to move to one of our standard paid hosting plans at any time. Simply discuss your needs with one of our friendly team.
Can we have more than one website under the program?
The Community Hosting Program covers a single hosting account per organisation. If you need to host multiple sites, please reach out to our team. We may be able to work something out depending on your circumstances.
What happens if our NFP status changes?
If your organisation’s status changes and you no longer qualify, we ask that you let us know. Your account would move to standard pricing, and we’d give you reasonable notice before any change to billing.
Do you offer domain registration for NFPs?
Yes we also do domain registration. While the domain isn’t included in the program, we can register .org.au*, .com.au*, .au*, .com, .org (and many more) domains at standard pricing. You will be asked upon signup if you are registering a new domain, transfering a domain or using an existing domain with your new hosting.
*Registrant must meet the auDA eligibility and allocation requirements for any .au domain.
What's the difference between the Free and Paid Community plans?
The main difference is the control panel and your storage and bandwidth allocations. The Free Plan gives you solid, reliable hosting managed through a modern control panel. The cPanel community plan adds full cPanel access, which is the industry-standard hosting control panel used by web developers and IT professionals. If your organisation has a website already running on cPanel, or someone technically capable managing your site, the cPanel will feel familiar and give you much more direct control over your hosting environment.
The second difference is the ability to upgrade storage on the cPanel plan (contact us for pricing on storage requirements above the listed plans)
