A .build domain is a generic top-level domain for the global construction industry. Plan Bee LLC operates the registry. It is used by contractors, builders, carpenters, interior designers and architects, from large firms to local tradespeople.
Registrations can run from 1 to 10 years, and the minimum term is 1 year, so you can set the length that suits your business. DNSSEC is supported, which helps protect visitors from certain forged DNS responses. Names can be 3 to 63 characters long. Internationalised names are not allowed, so your name must use standard characters.
A .build domain is a good choice if your business works in construction, design or building trades and you want the extension to say what you do. Before you register, check that your preferred name is available and that it uses only standard characters. Also be aware that you can register a .build domain immediately, with no registration delay.
Registration is open to anyone worldwide, and you do not need a local presence in any particular country.

- Your contact details must be accurate when you register.
- You must keep your contact details current for the life of the domain.
Renew before the expiry date to keep your name. If you miss it, the rules below apply.
- After expiry there is a 40-day grace period in which you can still renew.
- There is no separate redemption period.
- Once the grace period ends, the name is released and becomes available to others.
You can move an existing .build domain to Domain Central from another provider.
- You need the authorisation (EPP) code from your current registrar.
- The domain must be unlocked before the transfer starts.
- The transfer usually takes 5 to 7 days, and the losing registrar has up to 5 days to respond.
- A successful transfer adds one year to your registration term.
You can change the registrant of a .build domain through the registrar.
- Changing the registrant does not change the expiry date.
- The registration term stays the same when the owner changes.
