A .business domain is a generic top-level domain run by Binky Moon, LLC. It is aimed at business websites, and the registry’s own material names small and medium businesses, B2B companies, consultants, publications, financial analysts and business schools as the people it is for.
The registry supports DNSSEC, which helps protect your domain against tampering with its DNS records. Names can be between 1 and 63 characters long, and internationalised names are allowed. Registrations run for a minimum of 1 year and renew in 1 year increments, so you can choose the term that suits your plans.
A .business domain suits businesses that want a name that says what they do in plain terms. The extension is not restricted to one industry, so it works for a hairdresser as well as an international company. Before you register, check that the name you want is available and that you are happy with the renewal cost over time.

- Your contact details must be accurate and kept current throughout the registration.
A .business domain has a 40-day grace period after expiry to renew it.
- You have 40 days after the expiry date to renew the domain.
- There is no separate redemption period.
- If you do not renew within the grace period, the name is released afterwards.
You can transfer an existing .business domain to Domain Central from another provider.
- You need the authorisation (EPP) code from your current registrar and the domain must be unlocked.
- The transfer usually takes 5 to 7 days to complete.
- A domain cannot be transferred within 60 days of registration or of a previous transfer, and a successful transfer adds one year to the term.
You can change the registrant of a .business domain through your registrar.
- The change is made through the registrar and does not change the expiry date.
- The registration term stays the same after an owner change.
