.degree
A .degree domain is a generic top-level domain run by Dog Beach, LLC. It is widely used by colleges and universities that want to promote their degree courses online.
Students can also use a .degree domain as a dedicated online space for their studies, with lesson plans, homework and exam results in one place. The registry supports DNSSEC, so your domain can be signed to help protect its DNS records. Internationalised names are allowed, and names can be 2 to 63 characters long.
A .degree domain is a good choice if your organisation offers degree programmes and wants a name that says so. Before you register, check that the registration term, renewal period and name rules suit your plans.
Registration is open to anyone around the world.
- Anyone may register a .degree domain, with no local presence required.
- Your contact details must be accurate and kept up to date at all times.
- Names must be 2 to 63 characters long.
Your .degree domain has a grace period of 40 days after it expires.
- During the 40-day grace period you can still renew your domain at the normal renewal price.
- There is no separate redemption period for .degree domains.
- Renewals run in one-year increments, so plan your renewal before the expiry date.
You can transfer an existing .degree domain to Domain Central from another provider.
- You need the authorisation (EPP) code from your current provider, and the domain must be unlocked.
- A transfer usually takes 5 to 7 days to complete.
- A domain cannot be transferred within 60 days of registration or of a previous transfer.
You can change the registrant of your .degree domain through your registrar.
- Changing the registrant does not change the expiry date of the domain.
- The registration term stays the same after the change.
