A .training domain is a generic top-level domain run by Binky Moon, LLC, which operates the extension through its registry. It is a newer extension, built for personal and professional development sites and for teaching sites offering lessons in areas such as driving, cooking, dressmaking, writing, computer science and pole dancing.
The extension supports DNSSEC, which helps protect your visitors from forged DNS answers. You can register for one to ten years, and a 40-day grace period applies after expiry. Names can be between 1 and 63 characters, and internationalised names are allowed. Your domain can also be renewed in one-year steps.
A .training domain suits you if you teach, coach or run fitness, sports or learning services and want the name to say so. Before you register, check that the name you want is free and that you are happy with the one-year minimum term.
Registration is open to anyone worldwide.
- Anyone may register a .training domain, whether an individual or an organisation.
- Your contact details must be accurate and kept current.
- No local presence in any particular country is required.
Your domain has a 40-day grace period after it expires, and you can renew it during that time to keep it.
- The grace period lasts 40 days after the expiry date.
- There is no separate redemption period, so renewal does not cost extra at that stage.
- Renew in one-year increments, and the name is released afterwards if you do not renew.
You can move an existing .training domain to Domain Central from another provider.
- You need the authorisation (EPP) code from your current registrar, and the domain must be unlocked.
- A domain cannot be transferred within 60 days of its registration or of a previous transfer.
- The transfer usually takes 5 to 7 days, and it adds one year to the registration term when it succeeds.
You can change the registrant of your .training domain through the registrar.
- Changing the registrant does not change the expiry date.
- The registration term stays the same after the change.
