.world
A .world domain is a generic top-level domain run by Binky Moon, LLC. It is open for anyone to use to share information about global news or events, the planet, a spiritual dimension, the real world or a fictional one.
The registry supports DNSSEC, which helps protect your domain’s DNS records from tampering. Names can be from 1 to 63 characters long, and internationalised names are allowed. Registrations run for a minimum of 1 year and renew in 1 year steps, up to a maximum of 10 years.
A .world domain suits projects aimed at a worldwide audience or campaigns that raise awareness of issues affecting the entire planet. Before you register, check that the name you want is available and that your contact details are accurate, because the registry requires them to be kept current.
Registration is open to anyone worldwide.
- No local presence in any country is required.
- Your contact details must be accurate when you register.
- You must keep your contact details current for as long as you hold the name.
Renew before your expiry date to keep your name. Your renewal reminders will come from the registrar.
- After expiry, you have a 40-day grace period to renew the name.
- There is no separate redemption period.
- If you do not renew within the grace period, the name is released afterwards.
You can transfer an existing .world domain to Domain Central from another provider.
- You need the authorisation (EPP) code from your current registrar and the domain must be unlocked.
- A domain cannot be transferred within 60 days of registration or of a previous transfer.
- The transfer usually takes 5 to 7 days, and a successful transfer adds one year to the registration term.
Changing the registrant is done through the registrar.
- The change does not alter the expiry date of your domain.
