How to configure Smartermail Email account on an Android device

Account Information #

• Name: Your name (e.g. John Smith)
• Email Address: Your full email address (e.g. user@yourdomain.com)
• Password: Your email account password
• Description: A short description (e.g. Work Email)

Mail Server Settings #

Incoming (IMAP) Mail Server
Hostname: mail1.domaincentral.com.au
Port: 993 (SSL/TLS enabled) or 143 (non-SSL)
Security Type: SSL/TLS (recommended)
Username: your full email address
Password: your email password

Outgoing (SMTP) Mail Server
Hostname: mail1.domaincentral.com.au
Port: 465 (SSL/TLS) or 587 (STARTTLS)
Security Type: SSL/TLS (recommended)
Require Sign-in: Yes
Username: your full email address
Password: your email password

Step-by-Step Setup #

1. Open the Settings app on your Android device.
2. Scroll down and tap Accounts or Passwords & Accounts (depending on your Android version).
3. Select Add Account > Email.
4. Enter your full email address (e.g. user@yourdomain.com) and tap Manual Setup.
5. Choose IMAP as the account type (recommended).
6. Enter your incoming mail server settings as shown above, then tap Next.
7. Enter your outgoing mail server settings, ensuring authentication is enabled, then tap Next.
8. Choose your sync frequency and notification preferences.
9. Tap Next or Done to finish setup.

Important Notes #

• We strongly recommend using IMAP instead of POP, as IMAP keeps your messages in sync across all devices.
• Always enable SSL/TLS for better security and to ensure encrypted connections.
• Your username should always be your full email address (e.g. user@yourdomain.com).

Once configured, your email will begin syncing automatically. You can now send and receive emails using your Android device.
