If your site or server appears down there is quite a few reasons that could be causing it.
Before you submit a ticket in the help desk its worth checking the following things;
Down For Everyone or Just Me?
go to http://www.downforeveryoneorjustme.com.au and type in your domain name and see what the results say.
If you are on one of our shared hosting servers and the site says its down for everyone then check the server announcements forum for your server at the Status Page for any server or network outage notices, as we alert clients via the this page in the event of any system mainentance or outage that may affect your site. Please refrain from opening a ticket in the helpdesk if we have posted an announcement related to the server your hosting is on. This takes time away from the team working on resolving any unforseen outages.
If it says its down just for you, then it may be your IP address has become blocked in the servers firewall. Before submitting a ticket to the helpdesk please visit http://www.downforeveryoneorjustme.com.au and copy down the IP address it displays and then open a ticket with the IP address in there, as this can speed up our response to you.
You can also try running a traceroute from a command prompt on your PC or check with your ISP for any network problems
Recent DNS changes?
If you have made any changes to the DNS records recently, you try using one of the 3rd party test sites such as http://www.dnsreport.com , http://www.intodns.com , http://www.domainwhitepages.com
These sites have powerful diagnostic tools and tests to help diagnose any problems.
Unpaid Bills ?
Do you have any overdue hosting bills that may have resulted in interruption to your services. If so, paying these will trigger any unsuspension that may have been applied to your service.
Domain Expired ?
Is your domain name active ? If your domain name is with us, you will be able to see the status of the domain under the Domains Tab. If your domain is not with us, login to your account with your Domain Registrar to confirm that the domain is currently Active.
